GALWAY'S pre-season exertions threw up mixed fortunes in the Connacht FBD and Walsh Cup competitions but it’s down to brass tacks this weekend and the altogether more serious business of Allianz League action with a double-header to kick it all off at Pearse Stadium on Sunday.
Kevin Walsh's footballers will aim to quickly put aside their disappointing defeat to Roscommon and hone on the visit of newly-promoted Cavan in their opening task in Division 1.
Fixtures will arrive fast and furious with seven regulation rounds scheduled to be run off over a nine-week period.
