Thirty people to Sleep Out for Simon in Tuam

SOME 30 people have signed up for the Sleep Out for Simon initiative in Tuam.
The fundraiser, which takes place this Friday from 7pm to 7am, will see more than 150 people in County Galway swap their beds for sleeping bags to raise awareness and much needed funds to tackle homelessness.
Homelessness in the West of Ireland is growing faster than in any other region around the country.
TH Body: Hundreds of people are trapped in emergency accommodation and homeless services due to the lack of affordable and social housing. With the crisis continuing to worsen, Galway Simon’s services are needed now more than ever.
The Sleep Out will take place in five locations across Co Galway, including on High Street in Tuam, Shop Street in the city, Corinthians R.F.C, Loughrea and the Costello Bay Coastguard base in Rossaveal.
