Tuam Chamber now 'in limbo' due to lack of support

FEARS that Tuam’s commercial development could be in jeopardy have increased with the failure of the town’s Chamber of Commerce to elect a new committee.
The outgoing board, who served a 12-month term, stood down at last week’s AGM. However, a poor attendance meant new officers were not elected and there are fears that future events such as the St Patrick’s Day parade may now be under threat.
Outgoing Chamber Secretary Ann Coen said the business community had to step up to support the Chamber, or deal with the fallout from the lack of any representation in the town.
