Connacht coach Pat Lam.

Late Williams try wins it for Ulster

PERHAPS it’s the greatest sign of Connacht’s development that this type of Guinness Pro12 loss can now be viewed as a bitter disappointment.
Ultimately Connacht left the Sportsground demoralised because Ulster were just too crafty eking out a win courtesy of a late Nick Williams try.
A healthy 5,876 crowd witnessed a curious game with the issue delicately poised right until the end as Ulster finished strongly.
Still the fact that Connacht suffered a first loss on Galway turf this season was a pity as Pat Lam’s charges felt they did enough to secure victory.
“We had chances, but most importantly of all Ulster came out with the win,” Lam reflected.
