Comeback by galway secures valuable win in roscommon

TRAILING 1-8 to 0-4 at half-time facing promotion-chasing Roscommon, the prospect of a fourth defeat in as many weeks was staring Galway right in the face. However, they had one significant factor in their favour coming out for the second half.
Against Laois, Galway were unsuccessful in defending a second half lead against the breeze, but they dealt much better with the role reversal last Sunday, and an 11-point swing saw them come away with the two points.
Facing Connacht opposition in the National League for the first time since being relegated from Division 1 in 2011, Galway recovered well from an average first half display, using the strong wind advantage to hit long-range scores and overrun their opponents late on. No player consistently did that better than Peadar ” Gríofa, who was on target six times.
