Rebelettes strike late to deny galway ladies

AT MOURNEABBEY

A SUPERB performance on the road from Galway ladies but, ultimately, no reward as Cork struck late to take all three points in last Friday night’s National League Division 1 clash at Mourneabbey.
The Rebelettes have developed quite a reputation for second half heroics and their powers of recovery were called upon once more with Áine O’Sullivan and Rhona Ní Bhuchalla points in added time turning the prospect of a slender defeat into a one-point win for the home team.
Éamonn Ryan selected 12 of the Cork starting line-up from last September’s epic All-Ireland final with Dublin, a match in which they overturned a ten point deficit with little over a quarter of an hour remaining to clinch a remarkable ninth All-Ireland in ten years.
