Corofin take a giant step towards allireland club football glory

By Billy Coss

AS COROFIN wins go, this AIB All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final defeat of St Vincent’s must be right up there with the best of them.
After 17 years away and many tough defeats outside Galway, they are finally back in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day. And, given the quality of performance, not to mention the levels of maturity and assurance in ending St Vincent’s reign as champions, they will go in as firm favourites to capture the Andy Merrigan Cup for a second time.
This was a superb match played out in front of 4,188 paying customers at O’Connor Park, Tullamore last Saturday and Corofin were worth every bit of their winning margin, maybe even more.
