Signing of the contract for the new school building in Mountbellew.

Work starts on multi-million Mountbellew school extension

THE machines moved into the site for a €4.8 million extension to Mountbellew’s Holy Rosary College yesterday (Tuesday) and when completed in 18 months’ time it will see the school double in size.
“It has been a long wait but now that work has started it has been worthwhile and it is dream come true for pupils, past pupils, parents, teachers past and present as well as for the nuns who established the school almost 50 years ago,” says principal Maureen Walsh.
She is also delighted that a local contractor is in charge of the project and several other people involved are also from the area.
