Markings down for reinstated palace road

THE route of the reinstated Palace Road has been marked with blue paint and metal markers, but so far there is no sign of any actual work being done on the road.
Questions are being asked by traders and shoppers as to when the road will start and the adjoining car parks re-open, but there is no concrete information available.
Darren Donohue, President of Tuam Chamber of Commerce, said that the impression had been given in recent media reports that work was about to start, and he was glad to see that the marking had been done.
However he was disappointed that no actual construction had started, and it was crucial that work should begin in the next week or ten days.
“It is vital that the car parks should be open for Christmas. A significant part of the trade of the town at this vital season depends on them being open,” Mr Donohue said.
