Tuam to feel brunt of CE supervisor strike

TUAM’s Community Employment scheme is to be one of the hardest hit in Galway by industrial action by supervisors next Monday in a dispute over pension provision.
The five-day strike will affect 18 community, sporting and voluntary groups in the town where 43 CE workers operate under the direction of three CE supervisors, who will join the strike as part of a nationwide action taken by the SIPTU and Forsa unions.
Over 70 schemes across Co Galway will be affected by the industrial action, including Claregalway where 34 people are employed as CE participants.
