Tuam musicians take to the stage for Regina’s Fight for Life

A GROUP of friends in Tuam are rowing in behind a major fundraising drive to support a young teacher’s battle for life-saving cancer treatment in the US.
Regina Duffy, whose husband Jason Donoghue is from Tuam, is currently in New York’s Kettering Sloan Memorial Hospital where she is awaiting ground breaking treatment on a rare form of brain cancer.
Regina’s family in Westport have raised the €370,000 needed for her treatment in just over two weeks. The 38-year-old was diagnosed with cancer for the third time last month and is hoping the treatment that is only available in the US can prolong her life.
Speaking from New York on Tuesday, Jason said Regina’s treatment plan would be finalised today (Wednesday) when the couple meet with her consultant.
