Fundraiser start of new charity link-up for The Woolstore

The Woolstore in Tuam will go teal and pink on Friday, November 6, as it hosts a special evening in aid of Charlotte’s Vision.

The event will launch a new partnership, with the Woolstore naming Charlotte’s Vision as its charity of choice for the year. Further fundraisers will take place throughout the year to support the charity’s work in metastatic breast cancer research.

Hosted by Caroline Downey, the evening will bring together professionals in fashion, skincare and wellbeing, sharing practical advice, inspiration and insights. Guests will enjoy cocktails and canapés, music by DJ Niall Smith, a Best Dressed competition and plenty of prizes.

Taking place from 7pm to 10pm, the event promises a feel-good night out with friends while supporting a cause that holds a special place in the local community.

Charlotte's Vision

Charlotte’s Vision was established in 2022 in memory of Charlotte Sweeney and supports metastatic breast cancer research in partnership with the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.

Sarah Gleeson, owner of the Woolstore, said: “This is a cause that means a great deal to the Tuam community and one that is particularly close to my own heart.

“We wanted to find a meaningful way to support the wonderful work being done in Charlotte’s memory, while also honouring my dear aunt, Jacqueline Collins, who sadly passed away following her battle with breast cancer.

“We hope that through this partnership, we can help raise awareness, support the incredible work being done by Charlotte’s Vision and make a positive difference to those affected by this illness.”

Virgie Sweeney, Chairperson of Charlotte’s Vision and Charlotte's Mum, said: “We are so grateful to Sarah and the team at the Woolstore for choosing Charlotte’s Vision as their charity of choice. Knowing that this partnership also honours Sarah’s aunt Jackie makes it especially meaningful.

“Support from the town helps us continue to fund metastatic breast cancer research in Charlotte’s memory. The money raised to date has already made such a difference. We’re looking forward to bringing everyone together for a lovely evening of style, music and friendship, while raising funds for a cause that touches so many families.”
