Thieves hit Athenry construction site

Locks were cut

GARDAÍ are investigating a burglary at a construction site in Athenry.

A quantity of copper and lead were stolen by the unknown culprits from the site at Pairc Na Ri which was broken into between 1.30 am and 2.30 am on Monday morning.

Investigators believe that the culprits entered the site through the neighbouring Ard Esker estate and went on to cut the locks on the shipping containers to steal the materials.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any vehicles or persons acting suspiciously in the area or who may know the current whereabouts of the stolen copper to come forward.
