Sweeney Todd will be the show for Tuam Choral Society
THE Marian Choral Society, Tuam launched their show choice for this year which is Sweeney Todd.
Many past and present members attended the launch in Reapy’s Bar where Chairperson Eimear Kealy thanked the MCS Committee for their continuous hard work over the past few weeks.
Set in the shadowy streets of Victorian London, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street follows the mysterious return of a barber with a troubled past and a thirst for justice. As he forms an unusual partnership with the resourceful pie-shop owner Mrs. Lovett, their ambitions begin to transform a quiet corner of the city into the center of a dark and thrilling tale.
Featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, this gripping musical blends suspense, dark humor, and unforgettable songs in a story that explores revenge, ambition, and the cost of obsession.
The production team includes Aoife McClafferty are Director and Choreographer and Musical Director Shane Farrell.
The Marian Choral Society will bring Sweeney Todd to the stage in St Jarlath’s College from October 27 to 31.
