Large crowds expected to bid farewell to Dolores

Mourners lined streets last night

LARGE crowds are expected to gather in Kilcoona this afternoon to bid farewell to the late singer Dolores Keane who died at her home earlier this week.

Last night (Thursday) mourners holding candles and lights lined the streets of Headford as the remains of the much-loved singer passed through the town en route to her home in Caherlistrane.

Heartfelt tributes continue to be paid to the iconic singer whose sudden death at the age of 72 has shocked and saddened people in Ireland and throughout the world.

Dolores’ brother and well-known singer Seán Keane told The Tuam Herald that his sister’s death has “hit them hard”.

Many figures from the music world are expected to be in attendance at today’s celebration of Dolores Keane’s life which saw her travel and perform around the world and collaborate with international singing stars.

The funeral Mass for Dolores Keane takes place today (Friday) at 3pm in St Patrick and St Cuana Church in Kilcoona, just outside Headford with burial afterwards in Donaghpatrick Cemetery.
