Mother’s Day Walk for breast cancer research
THE National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI) based in Galway are inviting people across Galway to help take one step closer to finding a cure for the disease.
This Mother’s Day, Sunday, March 15, participants are encouraged to take a stroll, walk the dog, or gather with family and friends while raising funds for breast cancer research.
In Ireland, one in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, with more than 3,587 new cases each year. All funds raised from Walk in Pink will directly support the breast cancer research team at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway.
The Galway walk is organised by the NBCRI Galway Volunteer Fundraising Committee and will begin at 10.30am from the Claddagh Hall where there will be music and fun before participants head of across the top of South Park, along the prom to Blackrock and back.
