Community addiction event highlights need for more supports for young people

Local areas should run similar initiatives

An event offering support for mental health and addiction highlighted the need for a cultural shift in society and education to save the younger generation.

The talk titled ‘Sure look, I’m grand’ was organised by the Killererin GAA club, the Killererin LGFA club and the Killererin Community Council at the Barnaderg Community Centre on Friday.

More than 70 people were in attendance from various parishes who all appreciated the efforts made by the local groups to raise awareness around the issues.
