By TONY GALVIN A GARDA raid on a home in Cummer over the Bank Holiday weekend netted cannabis plants worth an estimated €280,000. Judge Gerard Furlong said he couldn't deal with the question of bail until the Court was sure of the defendant's identity. He granted free legal aid. Chun Wan applied for bail through his solicitor Adrian MacLynn but senior Gardai objected on the grounds that they could not be sure of the defendant's true identity. They believed he was either from China or Malaysia. He is charged with cultivating cannabis plants and possessing a controlled drug for the purpose of sale or supply. The Court was told Gardai understand Lim Chun Wan has been in Ireland for about a year and may have lived in Dublin, Trim and Cork before moving to Cummer. He was remanded in custody to appear before Harristown Court next Friday.[/private]
