Currylea School of Music will open up Pres facilities to community
By JACQUELINE HOGGE â€Å“It is lovely to see that tradition continue and both the principal Neasa Cosgrove and music teacher Una McGinty deserve great credit for leading this project. â€Å“I have no doubt it will be a great success as music is something so many of us would like to pursue and this school will inspire and enable many people to do just that.â€Â Una McGinty, who is one of two music teachers at the school, said she hopes the new school of music will enhance the musical talent already within the school. â€Å“We will be opening up our school orchestra to members of the community who avail of the school of music and we are working towards a start date of September to get tutors lined up and students from fifth class up registered.â€Â The new school will offer tuition in violin, clarinet, saxophone, flute, guitar and singing, in tandem with piano and harp lessons already offered at the Pres. â€Å“Lessons will be individual or in groups and while our own students will get precedence, we will cater to the wider community if the demand is there,â€Â added Neasa. â€Å“We currently have three lesson rooms and another will be converted over the summer in time for the schoolâ€â„¢s official opening.â€Â For further information on the new school of music log on to www.prescurrylea.com or contact Una on 086 3343268.[/private]
