Galway sfc semifinals down for decision on sunday
WITH inter-county football wrapped up for another year, it’s back to local bread-and-butter matters as the concluding stages of club championships take centre stage right around the country.
Sunday afternoon’s Senior Football Championship semi-final double-header at Tuam Stadium certainly holds plenty of appeal with Corofin’s clash with championship surprise packages Cortoon Shamrocks followed by Salthill-Knocknacarra and Mountbellew-Moylough.
They are the headline matches in what is a busy weekend of football action in Galway. On Friday evening at Annaghdown’s grounds in Cregg, Oranmore-Maree take on Headford for the North Board Minor B title (throw-in 6.00pm).
There is also an interesting double-header scheduled for Pearse Stadium on Saturday afternoon where the North Board Junior A final between Caherlistrane and St Gabriel’s (3.45pm) is followed by the Intermediate Championship relegation final involving Ballinasloe and Clonbur (throw-in 5.15pm).
