Salthill to host Alzheimer's Memory Walk

THE SALTHILL Prom will be the venue for the Galway leg of the 2026 Alzheimer’s Memory Walk next month.

The Alzheimer’s Memory Walk is a vital fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland (ASI).

In 2025, almost 3,000 walkers took part across the country, raising over €240,000 to help fund vital ASI services including daycare, family carer training, social clubs, dementia cafés and the national helpline.

The Galway walk will take place on the Prom, meeting at the Blackrock Diving Tower before 12noon on Sunday, September 20.

Local Champions Bertie Reany and Sinead Murphy will lead the Galway Memory Walk this year, walking in support of all those currently living with dementia.

Adults registration is €20, and a child’s pack is €5. To find out more and to register for the event visit memorywalk.ie.
