Tuam Library to host works of local artist
Exhibition opens on Saturday
AN exhibition featuring the works of a Tuam artist will be launched at the library in the town on Saturday, August 8.
‘The Beauty Around Us’ is a collection of paintings showcasing various Irish landscapes, painted by Tasha O’Connor, who also works as the store manager at the NCBI charity store in Tuam.
The launch event for the exhibition will be held from 3pm to 5pm at Tuam Library on Saturday. It will run until Friday, August 28, with almost a dozen art pieces on show, mainly revealing some of the most beautiful sceneries around Tuam and parts of County Galway.
“Art has always been more than a creative outlet for me, it’s a way to connect with nature and places I visit or live,” said Tasha O’Connor.
She told The Tuam Herald that she is often inspired by the beauty found in everyday life.
“Every piece I create reflects a part of my journey and I invite the viewers to find their own stories and memories within it,” she added.
The collection represents a body of work she created over the last year exploring themes of nature and memory.
“Although each piece stands on its own, together they tell a larger story about how Ireland has beauty in all nooks and crannies,” said Tasha O'Connor.
Tasha hopes that those who attend the exhibition will be able to form a personal connection with her work and find a “feeling of home and community."
