Funding opportunities for artists in Tuam area

Two schemes available

CREATIVE Places Tuam has launched a range of opportunities for artists and creative practitioners to receive funds and support for their works.

The organisation is inviting artists and creatives to apply for the 2026 Áras Éanna Artist Residency Programme before the applications close at 5pm this Friday, July 24.

Two artists from Tuam and the surrounding areas will each receive a two-week residency, at Áras Éanna, including studio space, accommodation and €1,000 stipend, to support dedicated time for their practice.

The residencies run from October 4 to 17 and October 18 to 30 with applications open to both emerging or established artists aged 18 and over working in any artform.

The organisation has also launched the 2026 Cultural Growth Fund, which offers monetary funds to the artists to support their projects.

The funds are offered in three strands, first being the Seed, offering up to €500 for early ideas and experimentation, the second Taking Root, offering up to €3,000 to support developing ideas and strengthen creative practice and the third Bloom, offering up to €1,000 to support bringing creative work to the public.

With applications closing on September 11, at 5pm, the fund welcomes ideas of all sizes and is open to individual artists, creative practitioners, community groups and voluntary, arts and cultural organisations living, working or actively engaged in Tuam or its surrounding areas.

Window displays

Creative Places Tuam is also calling on the town’s artists to join its new Artist Spotlight Roster, that will see their work featured in window displays on Shop Street and interviews throughout the year.

Another call is open for a volunteer led collective that will help shape events, build community connections and advocate for arts infrastructure in Tuam.
