Ball signed by Irish world cup heroes being raffled
A FOOTBALL signed by many of Ireland's world cup heroes of the 1990s is being raffled by Galway Hospice.
The ball is signed by Ireland’s 1994 FIFA World Cup team, including Roy Keane, Packie Bonner, Ray Houghton, Steve Staunton and many members of the famous USA '94 squad.
The football was originally presented by the squad to a barber in Pasippanym, New Jersey as a gesture of appreciation for his kindness during their stay.
It has now been donated to Galway Hospice by the O’Hare family in memory of Catherine O’Hare of Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, who died at Galway Hospice in January 2020.
Catherine’s family appreciated the support provided by Galway Hospice during the difficult times.
They believe Catherine would be happy to know her memory was being honoured and would appreciate the ball from Giants Stadium in 1994.
