Galway residents advised of another hot weather spell.

Hot weather spell on way for Galway

A WEEK long hot weather spell may create another heat wave Galway County Council has advised.

The Council has published a weather advisory highlighting that the daytime maximum temperature will remain between 25 to 30 degrees from Friday, July 10.

The nighttime temperatures are also expected to remain at 15 degrees or higher, causing the nights to be warm and humid.

There is also a possibility of thunderstorms occurring later in the week.

These adverse weather conditions may cause water safety issues, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, heat stress, dehydration and potential disruption of public transport, potential wildfires and drought conditions.

People are also being urged to take care of their pets as the hot spell could cause discomfort or health problems to the animals.

Galway County Council has advised the public to keep an eye on the Met Éireann website at www.met.ie as well as www.watersafety.ie for water related updates.
