Galway Mountain rescue mark 50th anniversary
A SPECIAL event will mark the 50th anniversary Galway Mountain Rescue team and their lifesaving services to the community.
The event on Saturday, June 6 at Clayton Hotel, Galway, will bring together current and past team members to mark five decades of dedicates voluntary service.
Since its establishment in 1975, the team has played a critical role in emergency response across the west of Ireland, assisting those who are lost, injured, or in difficulty in remote and mountainous terrain.
Operating 24/7 in all weather conditions, this volunteer-led organisation works closely with An Garda Síochána, the Irish Coast Guard, and the National Ambulance Service.
Galway Mountain Rescue Team combines advanced rescue skills with emergency medical expertise to deliver vital support when it is needed most.
“This milestone is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our volunteers over the past 50 years,” said Team Leader Alan Carr.
