Sice kickstarts new podcast

TY production features plenty of local stars

A NEW podcast trí Gaeilge is being launched by the Transition Year students at Dunmore Community School, who are kickstarting the series with an interview with All-Ireland winning footballer Gary Sice.

The students are currently studying a module of their course under the guidance of Galway Roscommon Education Training Board with tutors helping them on a range of activities including podcasting, barista training and horticultural studies.

The podcast is part of the school’s participation in the Gael Bhratach Scheme, which encourages students to use Irish outside of the classroom.

School principal Declan Quinn said the podcast was another new and innovative part of the school curriculum.

“We are delighted to have a new initiative in our school with the establishment of an Irish Committee aiming to encourage the development and ‘grá’ of the spoken Irish language through the use of podcasting, debating and the organisation of table quizzes etc,” he said…
