Brothers show great courage following loss of dad

THREE young boys have pledged to raise funds and help create awareness for the heart and stroke charity Croí following their father’s sudden and tragic death last year.

Joey (Joseph) (14), Eoghan (12) and John (7) Muldoon put their creative skills to work at the end of the year and made handmade Christmas decorations, which they sold at local markets in their area.

They also created a special hamper featuring their crafts, which they raffled. The boys’ efforts raised more than €500, which they were delighted to handover to Croí representatives in the centre in Galway recently.

The boys were drawn to the charity following their father’s death. Martin Muldoon from Ballintleva, Belclare, was just 52 when he died suddenly from a cardiac incident at the end of May last year. His sons, who live with their mum Sinead in Sligo, were heartbroken, but were also eager to do something positive in memory of their beloved dad…
