Support sought for reignited Tuam Community Council as information evening takes place on Thursday

PLANS to resurrect Tuam Community Council are to progress with an information evening to encourage members of the public to join the forum.

A committee has been formed to spearhead the project and it is hoped more volunteers will come on board to help deliver improved community facilities for Tuam.

Speaking ahead of the information evening to be held in High Cross College South Campus (old Mercy Secondary School) tomorrow, Thursday, at 7.30pm, Chairperson Caroline Gormley said it was hoped to get a strong representation from groups and individuals throughout the town to drive the council.

“We are hopeful of getting a good crew of people together who can work to get things done in the town,” she said.

“Our goal is to deliver a community centre, which is badly needed in a town the size of Tuam, but the purpose of the information night is to find out what other facilities people want…
