Hundreds journey for Ger

Substantial monies raised for Galway Hospice.

‘YOU’LL never walk alone’ was the slogan for the ‘Journey for Ger’ charity walk / run and not one of the hundreds and hundreds of people who walked and ran the 46.1km from Knock to Kilkerrin on Saturday felt alone at any stage throughout the day, despite the miserable weather.

Many of the participants were sporting their sky blue ‘Journey for Ger’ t-shirts when they left Castletown Cross on the outskirts of Kilkerrin at 5.25pm, minutes before Dublin faced Monaghan in the All-Ireland semi-final in their sky blue geansaís in Croke Park, as they walked into Kilkerrin village in unison, in memory of Ger McMahon, who passed away in March…
