Clonberne Windfarm Action Group to reach out to landowners

A COMMUNITY group opposed to the construction of a wind farm in Clonberne is to reach out to landowners who have agreed to lease sites to the developer in a bid to resolve growing tension in the village.

Last month, a crowd of over 400 attended a public meeting organised by the Clonberne Windfarm Action Group, which is campaigning against the commercial wind farm that comprises 11 180m tall turbines.

The Action Group has highlighted the potential health and environmental impact the development will have on residents and the local hinterland and have pledged to take legal action if the project is granted planning permission.

Classed as a Strategic Industrial Development, the project will be considered by An Bord Pleanála when the planning application is submitted later this year…
