St Jarlath's and Colaiste Bhaile Chlair advance to Connacht Colleges 'A' semi-finals

Pres Athenry and Gort CS to face each other in Connacht Colleges 'A' hurling final

SEAN Birmingham was the shining star for St Jarlath's as they caused an upset in defeating Mayo rivals St Gerald's in their Connacht Colleges 'A' quarter-final at Connacht GAA Centre.

Colaiste Bhaile Chlair also impressed in their quarter-final victory, defeating St Attracta's of Sligo 2-13 to 2-6 at the same venue.

Both St Jarlath's and Colaiste Bhaile Chlair face each other in the semi-final at Tuam Stadium this Saturday (12:30pm).

Indeed, Galway schools boast three of the four semi-finalists, with St Joseph's 'The Bish' accounting for Rice College 1-10 to 0-9 in their quarter-final. They face St Colman's in Headford today (Wednesday) at 12:30pm.

Elsewhere, Pres Athenry qualified for the Connacht Colleges 'A' hurling decider with a 0-24 to 0-14 over St Brigid's while Gort CS had a big win over St Raphael's, 3-17 to 1-5, in their penultimate game.
