Feasibility study on Quiet Man Greenway gets underway

THE long-awaited feasibility study into the potential of a greenway being developed alongside the disused rail line linking Athenry to Tuam is due to get under way this week.

A consultant has been appointed by Galway County Council to conduct the study into the development that has caused much controversy within the local authority in recent years, with attempts to secure funding blocked by those members who favour the reinstatement of rail services along the line.
