Stars left nursing final regrets

BARNA will have a Senior and a Junior squad competing in the 2021 Galway football championships. With all due respect to them, it should be Tuam Stars harbouring that proud moniker.

Like Galway in Clones, the players, management and fans representing the town on Friday evening, will have journeyed back, this time down the N83 from Salthill, pondering just how they did not win this Junior A County final of 2020, played on June of 2021.

They scored 1-8, and left 24 other scoring chances by the seaside, spread across 15 wides, three saved shots by Barna's goalkeeper, two blockdowns by Barna backs, another two efforts which dropped short, allied to two balls coming back off the post.
