Court tributes to native son Sgt Daithí Cronin on last day

WARM tributes were paid at Tuam Court on Tuesday to mark the occasion of the last sitting at which local man Sgt Dathaí Cronin would serve as the Court Presenter (Garda prosecutor) in his native town, before his retirement from An Garda Síochána after a stellar 35 years of service.

Sgt Cronin told the Court that he had come full circle as he left Tuam in 1985 to train as a Garda in Templemore and now he was back in his home town again for his final sitting of Tuam Court.
