Charity website is breaking records in a time of pandemic
A TUAM company that hosts a charitable donation website will record over €1m in contributions for the month of May following a surge in generosity from the public since the outbreak of Covid-19.
iDonate was set up by Western Webs, based at the N17 Business Park, in 2012. It has grown from an initial collection of €250,000 donated to five local charities to €20m generated for over 1,000 organisations throughout Ireland over the past eight years.
The platform is even being used by the clergy as they try to maintain parishioner contributions to churches that remain closed due to coronavirus restrictions.
