Sinn Fein polling strongly in Galway East
WITH nearly 50% of the 139 boxes tallied in Galway East, there could be some surprises in store by the end of the count.
Independent’s Sean Canney is polling strongly as expected and is on 25%. He has retained his strong support in the Northern part of the constituency where the majority of the boxes have been tallied.
Sinn Fein’s Louis O’Hara has surprised some political pundits and is polling extremely well in electoral areas throughout the constituency. He is in the top three at the moment but it is too early to tell whether he has done enough to put him in contention of a seat.
Fine Gael’s Pete Roche will be happy with his performance so far where he has about 15% of the vote while FF’s Donagh Killilea is at 13%.
