Road works trigger rates row

BUSINESS owners in Dunmore are considering withholding rates payments from the Local Authority due to serious levels of traffic congestion in the town impacting passing trade.
A motion will come before a meeting of the Dunmore Traders Association this evening to determine whether the payments will be withheld until the issue is resolved.
Traders are concerned that traffic build-up in the town has worsened since the introduction of a one-way system with traffic lights at Twenty Minute Hill between Tuam and Dunmore last week.
