RSS jobs due to North Galway visit

THE people who get the 500 new Rural Social Scheme jobs nationally can thank the work of schemes across North Galway for the extra allocation.
The new jobs were announced by Minister Leo Varadkar at the weekend, and local observers say his visit to see one scheme in action in Caherlistrane last year may have been a catalyst for the expansion.
The 32 extra jobs across North Galway under the auspices of Galway Rural Development Company (GRD) will bring its total to 188 small farmers in need of a top-up income, and will also benefit Ability West service users by providing them with experience of working on community projects.
