New staff carpark aims to free up town centre public spaces

A NEW staff-only carpark is being mooted as a way of freeing up more than 100 public parking spaces in Tuam’s town centre.
The carpark would provide 135 spaces for workers at Super Valu in Tuam which employs some 170 people, many of whom travel to work in their cars.
Planning permission is being sought to turn a large vacant site to the rear of one of the existing Super Valu car parks into a temporary staff-only carpark, for a five-year period.
