Notorious stretch of road now on council's priority list

A COMMITMENT has been given that the notorious accident-prone stretch of road between Headford and Shrule will get top priority as soon as the Co Council’s three other top priority routes have been completed.
This pledge was given to Cllr Billy Connelly at the November meeting of Tuam Municipal Council (MDC) by Director of Service for Roads and Transportation Liam Gavin.
Liam Gavin told the meeting that County Hall was well aware that this route needed attention, especially the very dangerous stretch between Murphy’s Garage, where a young man was killed some time ago, and Knockroon School.
