Galway minors dethroned as Tipperary go goal crazy

LIKE their seniors, the Tipperary minors owed Galway one after last year’s All-Ireland final defeat. Nobody expected the manner of the win to be so emphatic though.
At different stages in the second half of Sunday’s semi-final, the scoreline on Tipperary’s side incredibly read 5-5, 6-6 and finally 7-7. With a quarter of an hour to play, Galway were 7-7 to 1-10 in arrears. Tipp forwards Cian Darcy, Mark Kehoe and Rian Doody were lethal in the danger zone, carving the Galway defence to ribbons with their movement and pace.
The goals crippled Galway’s attempts to successfully defend their title, and with Limerick to meet in the decider, having already beaten them 1-24 to 0-10 in the Munster final, you’d have to fancy Tipperary to succeed Galway as champions.
