Galway's summer roll can continue

CROKE PARK will be the destination for Galway football followers on Sunday afternoon as the county makes a welcome return to GAA headquarters as provincial champions when they take on Tipperary (4 pm).

Whether it’s the post match interviews given by Galway manager Kevin Walsh or his players, the words 'system’ and 'structure’ feature regularly. It’s not just buzz words being trotted out. Galway have transformed themselves into a highly organized, hard-working proposition without the ball and the group has bought into and implemented a defensive setup that’s become extremely difficult to penetrate. In years gone by, Galway football has been tagged as being 'too nice’ and at times 'naive’. Not this team. Not any more.
