First half goals secure vital win for ahascraghfohenagh

A FIRST half scoring burst that brought the match’s only two goals proved decisive as Ahascragh-Fohenagh secured an important win in Group A of this year’s Intermediate Hurling Championship and in the process brought an end to Abbeyknockmoy’s unbeaten start.
With four wins from four, Abbey’s place in the quarter-finals was already assured going into Sunday’s clash. After falling to Killimor earlier in the campaign, Ahascragh-Fohenagh’s need was undeniably greater — especially with tough fixtures still to come against Kinvara and Moycullen — and they did most of the damage during the first half while backed by the elements.
