Daniel's choice.

Daniel tips tuam traveller singer for the top

A YOUNG Tuam-based mother-of-one is being tipped for singing stardom by Daniel O’Donnell after almost 700,000 people viewed a recording of her busking in Galway, for his upcoming UTV television series, on his Facebook site.
But Kathleen Keenan from Rivercrest, Dublin Road, Tuam needs €2,000 to fund an album that she started recording before her five-month-old son Jamie was born to her and partner Francis Ward.
Cathaoirleach of Galway Co Council Cllr Peter Roche, who was involved in bringing her to the attention of talent scouts for Daniel O’Donnell’s UTV series, hopes that some company may sponsor Kathleen’s album before her appearance on the TV show in October.
“I first heard her singing at a function for Traveller Pride week in Ballinasloe and this led to a spot on the Keith Finnegan programme on Galway Bay Fm which was heard by some talent scout for the Daniel O’Donnell TV show,” says Cllr Roche.
Kathleen and her brother Davy (14) were filmed for the TV show busking on Shop Street, Galway last week, in the same area where superstar Ed Sheerin started his career.
