St thomas consign turlough to second straight defeat

TURLOUGHMORE were much improved last Saturday evening than they had been when going down to 2014 All-Ireland club champions Portumna in their opening Group C fixture. Facing the 2013 All-Ireland winners St Thomas’ this time around, Turloughmore contributed heavily to what was an entertaining game right from the very first whistle, but ultimately just came up short at the death.
Daithí Burke’s absence was offset somewhat by the recent injury suffered by St Thomas’ and Galway sharpshooter Conor Cooney. Fergal Moore was excellent for Turloughmore, sweeping along his half-back line in Loughrea. St Thomas’ avoided his sector of the field in the second half, and Moore had a good tussle with fellow Galway hurler James Regan.
