Tuam families in court battles to save homes

TUAM families are among the 412 mortgage holders locked in court battles with the banks who are seeking to repossess homes in the county.
That’s according to Galway East TD Colm Keaveney who says the government has to act fast to protect the families affected from ending up homeless.
Figures released by the Courts Service in the past week show that of 7,000 active repossession bills before the courts, 412 of these are in Galway which makes the county the fourth highest in the country behind Dublin, Meath and Cork.
