Gary sice and michael farragher are eagerly looking forward to corofin vs st vincents

AMONG the Corofin names uppermost in the thoughts of the St Vincent’s camp this week will be inspirational forward Gary Sice who has played for his club in several positions, in defence and attack. He sums up the spirit of the club in his single-minded determination to succeed. I asked him what it feels like to be named the “Toughest Defender in Connacht” - the title of his recent AIB award. He laughed it off, saying that most people had never heard of the idea until this year. “Well, it’s an award anyway I suppose and it’s always good to get one so I’ll take it” Gary replies.
It is just one of several individual honours that have been bestowed on him in recent months, including “Gaelic Football Sports Star of the Year” in Galway.
Training for virtually the entire twelve months of the year sounds like a very punishing schedule, so how does he cope with it? “We had three weeks off after the Connacht final against Ballintubber and it did us good but if you are winning it makes a difference and we had a hunger for work when it was over and we got down to business again. We were refreshed, not jaded, after the break and even though the training is tough, we enjoy it.”
