Grogan family overwhelmed by amazing response to shanes happy news

THE family of Tuam man Shane Grogan have said they are amazed at the reaction to the media coverage that he is to travel to the UK for specialist treatment in the New Year.
The story, as featured in last week’s Tuam Herald, registered over 50,000 hits on the paper’s website and Facebook page, while several national newspapers and media outlets also carried the report and photo.
Shane will travel to Leamington Spa in the West Midlands next month for specialist treatment under one of the UK’s top neurological doctors. His mother Joan will travel with him for an initial three month assessment with further treatment to follow.
Shane’s sister Sarah, who posted the piece with the photograph of Shane and his family to her Facebook page, said she never expected the reaction it had got.
“It’s been crazy, to think so many people have seen it, there are almost 1,000 likes on my Facebook page from the post I put up to say how proud I am of my family,” she said.
