Thumbsup for 4 million mental health campus

THE thumbs-up has been given for a new €4 million Mental Health Campus on lands adjoining the old Grove hospital in Tuam. However, the important decision on funding to allow it proceed is still unknown.
The National Capital Steering Committee has given its approval to the significant project which will provide a Mental Health Day Hospital, a base for Community Mental Health Team, staff accommodation for Early Intervention Services and School Age Teams.
It’s unclear whether or not the development will incorporate part of the old Bon Secours Hospital building or if it will be a stand-alone project elsewhere on the extensive site.
